Built in 1869 as a hunting lodge for the clan Macintosh, Meallmore Lodge has over the years entertained royalty such as Edward VII. In later years the lodge became a very renowned hotel in the Inverness area. In 1987 Meallmore Lodge was converted to a care home. Although occupying a somewhat remote location on the B9154 over 10Km out of Inverness, it is obviously very successful, with extensive new building in progress.
