The stretch of roadway between Eden Court Theatre and St Andrews Cathderal used to be very wide in the days when most vehicles were horse-drawn.
Subsequently the road was split into two parallel roads, the upper being named Bishops Road and the one nearest the River retained the name Ness Walk.
This portion of Ness Walk finally lived up to its name when it was pedestrianised, and now provides what it did in bygone times, a nice safe riverside walk from whence to admire the river and its inhabitants and also the interesting array of architecture on the East side of the river.
This view was taken opposite Eden Court Theatre, looking northwards towards the Cathedral (just visible at top left)

It looks like a very nice promenade. In summer it must be a wonderful umbrageous place.
I thought it looked like fall! It's lovely.
